Turn Back Time with an Eye and Brow Lift

Turn Back Time with an Eye and Brow Lift

Your face is amazingly expressive and likely a central element in how you feel about your appearance. But it’s exposed to the elements and subject to the forces of gravity and time.

Although your health is our primary concern at Oral & Facial Surgery of Mississippi, Michael Nichols, DMD, MD, and his staff appreciate that feeling good about how you look is good for self-esteem. That's why we offer cosmetic procedures, including brow lifts and eye lifts

Combining these procedures can make it look like you’ve found the secret to reversing time. You’ll look refreshed, younger, and happier — in other words, you’ll look how you feel. Let’s look at both procedures and how they can combine to erase years.

Eye lift

The skin around your eyes is particularly delicate and one of the first places you’re likely to notice changes. Over time, you may see your upper eyelid sag. The surgery to correct that sagging is called blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty can be medically necessary if your upper lid interferes with your vision. It can also correct bags under your eyes and other cosmetic issues.

Often, patients concerned they appear fatigued benefit from an eyelid lift. Changes in the skin, muscles, fat, and other tissues around the eyes, combined with the effects of sun damage and other factors, can leave you looking tired even if you get sufficient high-quality sleep.

Brow lift

Similar things happen to your eyebrows over time. Your skin loses elasticity, sun damage accelerates that process, and gravity pulls them down.

You may notice wrinkles, or frown lines, between your eyebrows that leave you looking angry or more serious than you feel. Horizontal lines can have the same effect.

A brow lift corrects those problems and smooths your wrinkles. A lift can help sagging brows look more youthful.

Eyes and brows together

Addressing both your eyes and brows at the same time allows Dr. Nichols to make subtle changes in half your face. The result is a more rested, youthful overall appearance.

Botox® or fillers could address some concerns with your appearance, but those treatments require maintenance. An eye and brow lift performed in a single procedure offers years of results without frequent injections.

To be a candidate for this combined procedure, you should be healthy overall and clearly understand what to expect. Recovery often takes a little longer when you undergo two procedures at once.

If you’d like to learn more about eye and brow lifts and find out if these cosmetic interventions can help you turn back time, call our office in Flowood, Mississippi, today to schedule an appointment with Dr. Nichols.
